Lionhead goldfish have a huge head and clusters of scales around their neck which resemble a mane. Ranchu and oranda varieties have large wide bodies and swim with a wobble as they move. The fascinating ryukin goldfish is nearly round in chape with shorter fins than most fancy goldfish breeds.
Caring For Goldfish
Goldfish need there water kept below 22 degrees Celsius as they are a cold water fish. They just do not know when to stop eating so only give them what they can devour in a five minute period. They are likely to eat your aquatic plants so keep greenery out of the tank unless it is meant for food. Although many goldfish are kept in bowls it is a lot easier to keep their water clean in a fish tank. This is because the larger water volume does not become as concentrated with waste as fast. Filters can also be used to improve your goldfish's water quality.

Without the need for heating goldfish travel well. If you are into the more fancy varieties it is certainly more convenient to buy goldfish online rather than driving from store to store. It is alright to mix different sizes so long as there is adequate plant cover and tank space.
